The Japanese poster departments of the time seemed to think, “If the movie’s for kids, make the poster look like it was designed by eight-year olds. Composition, bah!” I guess Space Gyaos was being reserved as a surprise, though? Not a bad idea, really. If the above didn’t get you to buy a ticket, I doubt one more monster would have made a difference.
