Monster of the Day #3321

So…could Cthulhu destroy Ro-Man, or rather the Ro-Men? It’s harder to say than you might think. After all, a single Ro-Man (effectively) destroyed the entire human race. He survived direct hits from atomic bombs as he routed the planet. And there’s an entire race of them up on the moon. Or was it Mars? When if the Great Ro-Man–who from another planet shot a beam from his hand that caused worldwide earthquakes and dinosaurs and volcanic eruptions and stuff–sent a hundred Ro-Men down? Somebody, get Sandy Petersen on it!

  • Beckoning Chasm

Well, they have different modes of attack. The Ro-Men attack through physical weaponry, Cthulhu attacks through the mind. When Cthulhu feels like he might be losing, he could act like the Thrint and order all the Ro-Men to commit suicide.

  • bgbear_rnh

True, but Ro-Man is powered by the mind of a child.

  • Upvote for the Known Space reference!

  • It depends if it’s just a single Ro-Man or the entire fleet.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Yes, but the Thrint (to continue my example) were able to make most sentient life in the galaxy kill themselves. If Cthulhu has similar power levels he could do the same. Or, he might be able to use The Mule’s method of “adjusting” the mental levers to make them servants.

I’d guess that if the Great Race of Yith or the Fungi From Yuggoth with their advanced technology couldn’t do anything with Cthulhu that Ro-Man’s species couldn’t either. In any case Sandy would be the guy to ask.

It is strange that with all the other Cthulhu stuff I own I do not have a plush one.

  • Ken_Begg

That’s the kind of remark you’re supposed to say BEFORE Christmas, chum.
