Let’s postpone Watch Party one more week….

Sorry, folks, but there seemed to be more people who couldn’t make tonight than could make it. Pretty soon Christmas / New Year’s will be knocking out dates until January, so I’d like to get at least a decent crowd in for the last WP of 2021. I apologize for hosing this so badly, but I’ll work on a more consistent model for next year.

The way I’m doing this is that when the links for the WP go out, everyone who attended a previous one is invited. So if you’d like to opt out from the mailing list for whatever reason, please just drop me a line at ken@jabootu.com.

  • Beckoning Chasm

I’ll be up for whatever day is chosen. Christmas? Bah humbug!

  • bgbear_rnh

    Uncle!

  • bgbear_rnh

Well that simplifies the plans tonight.

  • Ken_Begg

Sorry, folks, I realize I’m really screwing the pooch on this. I’ll attempt to be more organized in the future.

  • Ken_Begg

Well, I’m sure Amazon Prime has a bad Krampus movie. (Which is like all of them but one.)

  • bgbear_rnh

Ah shucks, it is OK ya big lug.

  • Gamera977

Yeah, a horrible Krampus movie would hit the spot.

Is ‘Santa Jaws’ still on Amazon Prime? It might work too. It’s not really bad but would be very riffable.

  • I just got in from Light Watching and was frantically going through my email for the link at the last second, lol. I’ll try to check in whenever it happens again.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Yeah, the Michael Doherty one is very, very good.

  • Eric Hinkle

Santa Jaws — is that the one with the Christmas killer shark?

  • Gamera977

Yeah, a kid who wants to be a comic artist receives a magical pen that causes whatever he draws become reality. And for some bizarre reason he draws a Christmas shark. Mayhem ensures…

  • The Rev.

I think I’d vote for Santa Jaws just because I haven’t seen it. I watched a bunch of bad Krampus movies a couple of years ago, and honestly I’d rather not rewatch any of them, with the exception of the anthology which actually wasn’t too bad. (Although Krampus was probably worth the pain of the pretenders. Boy I love that movie.)

  • Ken_Begg

We’ll see. I may bow to the general feeling, but man, I just don’t get any juice from these SyFy movies. Sadly, the ’59 Santa Claus isn’t on Prime. Maybe we should just go in another direction. As you can tell, I REALLY carefully plan these things out.

  • Gamera977

My apologies, it was a suggestion not a request. In fact I think I’d like a surprise from you better. I’m up for anything you run, unless it’s ‘Tank Girl’ – in that case I feel a migraine coming on already…

  • The Rev.

Show whatever you want, man. We’ll be there, I’m sure. It’s not like I’m in a rush to see Santa Jaws or anything.

  • Beckoning Chasm

I feel the same way. Like B-Fest, I’d rather not know in advance. And I don’t want any input into the movie choice, I’d rather see something I’d never seen before (and probably wouldn’t pick on my own).

  • Ditto.

I’ve… seemed to have used up all my clever posts elsewhere…

  • Ken_Begg

Don’t get too sanguine. I’m thinking of showing a particularly awful Lifetime Christmas movie instead. And that I’m sure would probably scare a viewer or two off. Thoughts? Seriously, speak now or forever hold your peace. I know is the kind of thing that probably only I would like, so here’s your chance to nip it in the bud.

  • I think nothing is funnier than bad drama, but I realize that’s definitely a YMMV.

  • Jamie B.

I choose whatever date Galaxy Jane chooses.

  • On the one hand, this is the Bad Movie Dimension. Naked Kiss was probably too good a choice; anything worse than it is probably fine.

On the other hand, I never signed on for no Lifetime movies, man That’s a level too far, man.

But what ever is, is. I can always run away screaming like a cowardly wuss if it gets too bad. And I did survive Winterbeast still mostly sane.

  • Gamera977

Oh my, I’m both looking forward to this and dreading it at the same time…

  • Ken_Begg

Well, I”m still waffling. I might just pick a bad movie with no Christmas theme, and then if we’re still doing this a year from now, maybe take a flier on a Lifetime movie then.

  • Gamera977

Either works for me. When in doubt just flip a coin!
