Wow, Amazon Watch Party this Friday, Halloween next weekend, and T-Fest the weekend after that. Busy time of year. Anyway, make sure to stop and eat an apple cider doughnut and watch a horror movie.

    Around here, that’s more than acceptable, I’m sure. I honestly haven’t watched many movies lately. Although I did watch “Midnight Mass” and am planning to get to “Squid Game” ASAP.

    I keep hearing about these apple cider donuts. I guess I should find one and see what the big deal is.

    I’m curious about ‘Squid Game’. Not normally my cup o’ tea but as a big fan of Korean movies I’d like to give it a try.

    Are Apple Cider doughnuts an Illinois/Wisconsin/Michigan thing? I would have thought they’d have had them in Iowa. But yes, if you can grab one, do.

    Hard for me to break out of the anime habit, but everything I’ve heard about Squid Game is good (although I’ve as always avoided learning any details about it).

    They might be in Iowa, but I’m not back there until December. They apparently are in Oregon, as some streamers I watch were talking about them. I’m guessing I have a decent chance of finding them here.

    I know a bit about “Squid Game,” but luckily not enough to ruin anything (basically I know what I’m sure is revealed very quickly in the first episode). I managed to go into “Midnight Mass” completely blind. Highly recommending it. Everything is really good, the writing most of all. After “Squid Game” I’m going to check out those “Haunting” shows (“Hill House” and “Bly Manor”) that the same people did previously.

    I mean, they’ve been around for years here, though, so if Iowa had them I’m just a bit surprised that you wouldn’t have come across them. On the other hand, I love apple cider, and I love cinnamon, so…..

  • We have them in Virginia, but this is big apple and cider country.

    I haven’t gotten any yet, but my local bakery sells them through Thanksgiving, so…. Still, I will definitely be getting a couple.

    I’ve been through the whole season. If you can get through a LOT of gratuitous and somewhat graphic violence, then yes, it is very good.

    Well, I like the Battle Royale movie, so I wouldn’t expect this to bother me.

    Well, there isn’t a donut shop anywhere near my folks’ house and they’re not something we eat often enough that we’d take a drive for when I visit, so it’s not surprising I haven’t come across them. If they’re here, though, I’m sure I can find a place that has them near me, just to try them.
