Whee! Banacek on Amazon Prime….

I might be the only one that is happy about this, but the lamentably short two season of the ABC Mystery Movie series Banacek are now available on Amazon Prime.

Oh, wait, I see that it’s free but you have to watch ads. Oh, well, better than nothing.

Banacek was a series where George Peppard played the titular suave insurance investigator who investigated impossible heists, which is a think I am rather a fan of. I’d say the only weird thing about the show is that pretty much every episode somebody asks or make reference to Banacek being Polish. Was that that weird back then?

No Snoop Sister or Hec Ramsey, though. Maybe some day.

I’m still bitter that they never did a series with Eve Arden and Vincent Price as sarcastic siblings who solve murder cases.

I think the Polish thing was his thing. Great show.
We are watching Monk on MeTV, who also solves impossible murders, but with compulsions.

Thanks, as a Peppard fan I’d always wondered about this show. Will give it a look.

Anyone seen ‘The Blue Max’? I’ve thought about picking it on DVD/

Jonathan Creek is another great show (British) that focuses on impossible murders.

Wow, saw it like forty years ago, and I don’t quite recall it well enough to offer any thoughts. Peppard was certainly well cast as an arrogant Aryan type, though.
