Amazon Watch Party: Prep or Surprise?

Do people want to know the movie in advance, or be surprised when the stream starts? I’m sure there will be a mix of answers, but we’ll see if one side has more votes than the other. Thanks!

I would vote for surprise. That is kind of the fun of T-Fest or B-Fest. However, I wouldn’t cry if the vote went the other way…

  • As another one who always goes ‘stud’ to T-Fest, I love a good (bad) surprise.

You know, as long as it isn’t *Andy Hardy’s Secretary*. I know where you live and have the sort of friends that can disappear bodies.

Normally I don’t like surprises but here what the hey- I’ll go with surprise too!

  • I’ve been waiting to see if the movie was Attack the Block, as I was going to watch it this (Cullen) weekend , but didn’t want to do that if that was the viewing choice.

Outside of that, I’m voting with the majority on this one. Surprise, not surprise, I’m cool.

I’d normally go surprise, but I think it might not be a bad idea to let people know ahead of time for this first one and maybe do surprises later. I may be in the minority on that, though.

Dammit. OK, I’ll find something else. Although it was the longer director’s cut…

Attack the Block is great, so I don’t think it’s very Jabootu-ish. Maybe something good in a later one? Sadly, Chad R informed me the Jaws movies are two days from leaving Prime, so Jaws the Revenge is out. I’ll find something, though.

  • Beckoning Chasm

I would vote for surprise, perhaps tempered by revealing the genre. IE, “The movie is a martial arts film” or some such.

  • I’d be upset about losing the Jaws movies, but I recently got the best of the bunch on Blu Ray recently, so if the need arises (and it often does) I can watch Jaws 3 whenever I want.

I also have Jaws on DVd. Somewhere. I’m sure it’ll turn up eventually.

Hey, if you want a truly awful movie to inflict on everyone (though I regret missing being there with you folks), you can always take a gander at ‘Gingerdead Man Vs. Evil Bong’. Hey, it has a trailer on YouTube. Best part, it’s a crossover between two franchises. So if it goes over big you’ll have more movies like it to watch.
