Monster of the Day #3249

A metaphor for Death is scary enough, but if you think of it as a metaphor for Monday mornings….brrrrrr. Anyway, another absolutely terrific cover.

By the way, why did Garfield hate Mondays? He was a stupid cat. It’s not like he had a job.

A skull-faced train would be something H.R. Giger would do.

The Duracells in your headlamp may out last you.

Garfield(at least in the cartoon) did have to keep Jon being scammed. And given Jon’s gullibility, that was a full-time job.

Our heroine/damsel is thinking, “Geez you go on one date with a undead miner, and he thinks he’s your boyfriend.”

  • “EEEK!”

“Jumpin Jehoshaphat! Where is—! What is–!”

    “Sorry. Sorry.”

“Geez, Mr. D, ya almost caused me heart failure! Metafurically speakin, of course.”

    “Metaphorically.”

    “That’s what I said.”

“Never mind, Bunny. Let’s just get the tires for the taxi and get back to work.”

“Shore. Wonder why they put them tires in a haunted mine.”

“Damned if I know. The Powers That Be stopped making sense to me centuries ago.”

“So, Mr. D, ya gonna tell me why ya screamed?”

    “Ah.”

“Come on. It wasn’t a bat or a rat or somethin’ like that, right? Not that I care, but I care, ya know?”

“Yes. Well. I thought I saw a… you know. A dog.”

    “A.. dog? Oh, Mr. D!”

“Hey, when you get to be all bones like me, dogs become a real problem. Gnawing and all that.”

“That ain’t never happenin’ ta me.”

    “Don’t be to sure.”

“Nah, I stopped doin’ that diet years ago.”

    “Oh Bunny.”

Could we get a TV show of this? On the other hand, Hollywood is doing SOOOO well rebooting ’80s action franchises that there’s no reason to look for new things.

  • I dread thinking what Hollywood would do with these characters.
