Sorry for the blurry photo, there are weirdly few good still of this statue. Still, I think you get a sense of how cool it is. It’s pretty massive, too, maybe 16 to 18 inches tall. I used to have it on my desk at the library, since that is in a secure room. Now it’s in my house somewhere sitting in the box. Those conversant with my place know I have crap EVERYWHERE and I really haven’t found a spot for it…or the Abomination I showed yesterday…or the Belulah from several days ago…
Bowen also made a standing statue of the original Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider–none of that spikes and chains Danny Ketch nonsense for this gray-bearded oldtimer–but it was always a bit too much to buy (even compared to this one), and now they are *really* expensive, so I missed my chance, I guess. If I’d had the money back in the day I’d have bought that and the Bowen Hercules, Black Widow, Angel and Ice Man statues and had a nice Champions display. Oh, well.
I also like the bike that just looks like a stunt bike, although I most remember the design from the comics that had the face shield. That would have obscured the figure, though, so I get it. I think they did a variant where the bike had a tricked out chrome look, but I much prefer this one.
Leaving for Houston tomorrow!
