Monster of the Day #3211

I mean, that art is fabulous, but man, you just can’t make that suit look non-goofy.

I saw the Demon Slayer movie last night, and it was great. I’ll probably see it again, just for the novelty of seeing movies in theaters again. When I first came in, though, mine was literally the only car in the parking lot, and the lobby of the multiplex was such a ghost town that I literally asked a guy if they theater was open. More people filtered in, though, and we ended up with at least 16 people in the audience, which probably isn’t too bad. The 20 minutes of trailers were irksome, they were all too long and detailed so that even movies that I might have had a modicum of interest in turned me off halfway through. And they keep the lights up for that entire time, which is obnoxious. I guess because people pre-buy your specific seats now and you have to be able read the numbers on the seats to find yours. Anyway, big takeaway, movie great.

Have a great weekend everyone. And see many of you next week in Houston/Rockwall.

Hey, this movie stars another of Hans Gruber’s brothers!

Cool, happy to hear you were able to make it back to a theater! I’ve never been a big movie goer but man I do miss the whole cinema experience now.

It is pretty great to see a visually oriented film (as this one is) on a big screen. Frankly, they don’t make that many movies I’m interested in anymore–as the long line of previews confirmed–so until somebody brings back revival theaters or they build an Alamo Drafthouse up here, I imagine it will be an occasional thing at best.
