Of course, aside from the quality of the base kits, the model builder can bring a lot to the table. An old friend of mine built this same kit (and assembled and painted the neato Kolchak model currently sitting in my kitchen), and did a nice job of it. This guy, though. He really worked over the surface of the base and the rocks and ‘water’ and sand and reeds and the wood base is all his work. Nicely done, chap.
