Monster of the Day #3197

Jamie B sent me this. The Monsters in Motion site is a wonder, an amazing collection of garage kits for obscure ’50s sci fi monster flicks. This one really captures the, uh, appeal of Creeping Terror, that’s for sure. It should come with a sound chip that has a single scream that you hear again and again and again.

That is friggin’ awesome!!! They used to sell a cool ‘Night of the Blood Beast’ figure. Not sure if they still have it though.

I’ve ordered from ‘Monsters in Motion’ and they’re a good company to deal with. My Peter Cushing resin van Helsing came from them.

Well, looks like every theater in my area is closed. So if it’s going to be ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ my only option is HBO Max. I think I’ll just wait till the Blu-Ray comes out and buy that instead. I know I’m going to buy the thing in any case. I really wanted to get at least one viewing on the big cinema screen though (sigh)…

I watched it at home on Max, and it is really solid dumb fun. The scientist in me was cringing and howling occasionally, but I shut him up and had a great time with my son watching an awesome kaiju rumble…

I saw it and immediately thought of Ken!

If I didn’t know that was the monster, I’d say this diorama were of a version of Alice in Wonderland I’d be keen on seeing. It looks like she’s squeezing into a rabbit warren at the base of a dead tree.

Given what’s really going on, I’m most impressed that those soda bottles are still standing upright!

I wish I could get that beauty. Just to put somewhere so everyone coming into the house can see it. It would be interesting to see just how many people would be able to identify it at a glance.

EDIT: Looked at the site and it’s sold out. Rats!

  • This is the greatest movie ever made.

Of course, I say that about most movies that feature Godzilla. But still…

  • Beckoning Chasm

I’ll give them this: the filmmakers at least tried to make a unique monster.

    My God, what is it?

  • Ken_Begg

    Ha!

To make it truly work, though, you have to mouth the words while an out of sight friend shouts the phrase.

You might still be able to find one. Look around the interwebz, esp auction sites like Ebay. You might have to cough up two-three times the original price though.
