Monster of the Day #3151

Okaaaaaaaaay………….

  • Beckoning Chasm

Definitely what I would call “busy.”

  • KeithB

This one is bucking the trend, it does not appear to have a “master of ceremonies” like the crypt keeper.

  • Gamera977

Yeah, I’d think the Sea Hag, ghost of Tor Johnson, or Captain Caveman would have been enough of a threat – but what the hell just throw in all three!!!

  • Is that kind of like The Devil’s Rain?

  • Wade Harrell

The chain is confusing, is it supposed to be attached to the shackles? I always feel sorry for the women in these, they were obviously having fun at a pretty kickin’ cocktail party when the monsters showed up and ruined everything.

  • Geez, that’s so much like Saturdays at my deli it’s not even funny.

  • zombiewhacker

This reminds me of one of those faked double-exposed photos you sometimes see that purport to have captured a ghost on film.

Note there’s no consistent sense of proportion from one ghoulie to the next. They also don’t appear to be facing in the direction of the main characters — as if someone cropped and pasted their images onto the page at random.

Finally, even the figure drawing of the individual characters is wrong. For example, the male character at the bottom of the screen is looking up at Igor’s face (sort of) yet he’s firing his gun low and off to one side, as if he was aiming for Igor’s right knee cap — and missing by a mile.

I’d love to get Rock Baker’s take on this.

  • Beckoning Chasm

I think the reason the shooter’s arm is so awkward is that Igor is pushing against it with his foot.

  • zombiewhacker

Good catch! Even so, the pose simply looks awkward. Oh, well…

  • Gamera977

Yeah, I’d just assumed Igor was kicking/stepping on his arm but you have a point- it does look ‘off’.

  • I’m more worried about where that poor woman’s back leg is attached.
