Monster of the Day #3143

Shadowzone. Never heard of it. 1990 was perhaps past the days when I was going to the video rental store every week. Still, if it’s Full Moon Entertainment it probably has a monster or two in it…and apparently it did. Nice suit!

It was on Amazon Prime about two years or so ago when I watched it. Pretty friggin’ solid SF/horror film. It kinda reminds me of ‘Event Horizon’. Scientists open a door into another dimension and the beings on the other side start their own experiments on the human researchers. And they care about as much about humans as human scientists care about fruit flies. It’s helped that Louise Fletcher plays a normal character and not the annoying Nurse Ratchet persona she seems to always get stuck in.

I think I have seen this, based on Gamera’s description. I don’t remember much of it, except I think their dimensional machine was in a cave, maybe?

Yeah, the lab was something like an underground bunker.

I saw this way back in high school and remember very little of it. If you say it was decent, maybe I should give it a watch. The fact it didn’t stick with me was making me think it wasn’t that good, but my memory of things I saw at that age has played me false before.

Well, I liked it. But you know me, I have strange taste…
