Misc Viewing: The Art of Action

I thought when I saw a video or video Channel that I thought folks might enjoy, I’d mention it. If you have anything to add, please do.

I recently came across The Art of Action, a YouTube channel hosted by Scott Adkins. I’m not familiar with his work, but he seems to be a current day action star. Mr. Adkins is also clearly a fan, and presumably has some show biz connections. So Art of Action is a show in which he interviews an action star, often an old school one, and talks about their career.

Just a few hours ago he posted an hour long interview with Cynthia Rothrock. I’ll be watching that presently. In the past he’s talked with some luminaries as Michael Jai White of Black Dynamite fame, Richard Norton (who worked with all the major Hong Kong players of the ’80s and became a regular antagonist of Ms. Rothrock in her movies), Mark Decascos, Tony Ja and others.

The series just started, so it’s still a bit rough around the edges. It’s chatty, which is good, but Adkins could use a little more practice on his skills as a host and interviewer. That may well come with time, though. In any case, it’s a very neat idea, and makes me wonder if someone could do the same with horror stars and directors. Anyway, check it out.
