    This is the perfect MotD for today.

  • Not the biggest Kirby fan out there. Something about his faces strikes me as off-putting, especially in his Seventies stuff. I like him (Miracle Man and Fantastic Four have neat stories), but he isn’t my favorite artist.

    I have to admit, aside from The Demon, I didn’t like pretty much anything Kirby did after splitting off from working with Lee. I’m glad Kirby is getting more credit these days, but I don’t know why so many people demand you pick one and rag on the other. As far as I’m concerned, they had a real Lennon/McCartney or Brooks/Wilder thing going.

    I agree. Both men had their virtues and their flaws. I probably just don’t ‘get’ Kirby but I always found the original Fourth World stories to be too hamfisted preachy to be really enjoyable.
