Monster of the Day #3040

I’m a little annoyed by YouTube’s new system of randomly inserting commercials into everything. I mean, really, you’re two and a half minutes into a ten minute video and it stops for a commercial? Anyway, I came across this. Apparently Black Magic was a horror comic published by Prize Comics in the ’50s (after the comics code thing, too, whereupon it presumably got much tamer). The evident distinction of the book, as you can see here, is that the covers of the first 30 plus issues were drawn by Jack Kirby. I’m sure this was good training for when he eventually created The Demon for DC.

Well, I can pretty much guarantee where this is going to go.

Don’t any of these idiots ever think that buying and raising a large powerful dog is a lot safer and more reliable?

  • I love the fact our demon summoner did so with a cigar in his mouth.

Oh come on, what could possible go wrong with summoning a demon from Hell?

  • He could try and sell you life insurance?

    About those Youtube commercials…

I understand the necessity for revenue streams, but it would be nice if YT gave uploaders the option of choosing *when* commercials show up. Original content providers could then structure intermission breaks where the ads occur, while uploaders of pre-existing content (e.g., old movies, shows) could at least schedule breaks for the end of scenes, like commercial television already does.

There’s nothing more annoying than watching someone get cut off mid-sentence just be —

JABOOTU! It slices! It dices! It shreds! It vacuums! It scrubs! It sanitizes! It mesmerizes! JABOOTU! Throw out your old toothbrush! Discard last year’s silverware! Stop doing needless situps! JABOOTU does it all! Available in aerosol spray or 8 track tape! Or just download the app! Like us on Facebook! Hug us on Patreon! (Do not take if pregnant or if you suffer from hypochondria. — cause some stupid advert gets the crazy idea to pop in out of nowhere.

Now I’m recalling when “Bob” was sicced on the Badger. “You going to bore me to death trying to sell me life insurance?” “No. I’m going to beat you to death with this pipe.” (Said pipe being of the briar persuasion.)
