Monster of the Day #3032

Mausoleum is a classic ’80s gonzo supernatural horror movie, ala The Jar or Supernatural. Green glowing eyes pervade, there’s great latex monster prosthetics, gore effects, there’s a bit of a name cast (by the standards of folks like us, anyway) of Marjoe Gortner and Bobbie Bresee and Bobbie Bresee’s Naked Breasts. (Again, the ’80s.)  So I wouldn’t watch this one at work or when kiddies are about. Still, if you’re looking for this exact specific shade of trash, a little sleaze with your cheese, you could certainly do worse. On YouTube.

I hope that’s not Bobbie Bresee and Bobbie Bresee’s boobs in the MotD!!!

Lord, there must be something wrong with me — I was thinking the same thing! :-)

    Welcome to the Funny Farm.

  • Eh, depends on the kiddies. Mine are well aware that boobies exist and some people have them.

I’ve met your kids, and a finer crew of sociopaths I’ve seldom seen. Now I know why. You probably also let them read horror comics and play one person shooter games.

Watched it last night. And yes, a bit sleazy but fun.

I liked the housekeeper. Smartest person in the film. When things started to go berserk she got the hell outta Dodge.

  • Um yes? Although neither of them cared much about the comics.

Horror comics are still being made? I thought they died with the 80’s.

  • Lots of nice reprint collections around. And online too. But mine mostly don’t care about comics in general. Too much reading, sigh….

Why don’t we see more people with a survival instinct in horror films? Other than, ‘then they’d all be ten minutes long’?

  • The Rev.

I unexpectedly got to see this last week when one of my favorite Roku channels played it. Just like everyone’s been saying, it was cheesy, sleazy fun. I had a pretty good time with it.
