Monster of the Day #1979

Kirk Draut suggested this for the “poster better than the movie” thing. So I guess he’s not a fan. (Was anyone?) I do like the graininess meant to add a grindhouse feel to things.

OT already, but thanks to Gamera77 I saw Winterbeast via YouTube. Interestingly enough, our recent friend Brett Piper appears in the end credits.

Since his stop-motion stuff was generally pretty decent, I wonder what he worked on?

And yeah…every time the film-makers made a choice, they made the wrong one each time.

Interesting thing about that photo–someone took it of the actual poster, and took a lot of care to reduce reflection and so on. You can still see the fold lines, one vertical one goes through center guy’s face, and a horizontal one goes right under angel-kid’s nose. You can see another horizontal one going through the predator’s stage-left eye.

Kudos to the photographer for getting such a good image of an obviously used poster.

I’m guessing this is one of the sequels or the remake? No Arnold, Carl Weathers, Jessie Ventura etc so I’m guessing not the original?

This is the one that came out late summer 2018.

I was unsure, too, until I noticed it said “The Predator” down in the corner.
