I imagine most of us prefer art posters, but man, that there is one great photo poster.

All I can say is whoever has been making these Japanese movie posters deserves an award!

Is there an award for movie posters? They should have it if there is one.

  • God is this a fun movie. Quite close to being one of the best anthology movies ever made.

It is pretty fun, and I love that graphic novel adaptation they did of it.

I’m trying to think of the best anthology I’ve seen, and to my surprise, the one I keep coming to is a fairly recent sequel, V/H/S 2. The first one had one pretty good story, one decent one, and three that were utterly useless garbage. The third one has two that are okay and one that has a fun premise that is killed by the execution and the acting. Somehow, the second one has one pretty good one, one quite good one, and two of the best short films I’ve ever seen. Admittedly, all of them have almost amazingly bad book-end tales (the first in particular); the third comes the closest to not being trash, with one segment of the overall story being pretty interesting, only to be abruptly ended with no real resolution. And, of course, you often have to get past the whole “how’d they recover that footage?” thing, although to their credit they did try to come up with an overarching reason for the series as a whole, even if there are still points where you’re like, “Well, that camera’s gone.”

  • Haven’t seen the third one yet, but V/H/S is a very good series of films. When the stories are good, they tend to be very good. Though the whole found footage thing is a problem.
