Monster of the Day #1898

Ah, the exquisite thrill of stumbling across a horror movie that actually lives up to its poster or video box art. that’s the kind of thing that kept us trudging through the dreck back in the day.

This looks like it could also illustrate “dental tourism in kerala.”

Actually Ash and company would fit in pretty well with some of the Thai movies I’ve watched…

Really? How crazy do Thai films get?

  • Gamera977

Well, I watched one called ‘Devil Run’ last week. Two Grim Reapers (who reminded me of Lennie and Squeegy from the old Laverne and Shirley show) kidnapped three college students and drug them down to Hell. Turns out though the guys who were supposed to die had similar names so Satan chewed out the Reapers and sent these three guys back to Earth. But while down there one erased their names from the book of mortality making them essentially immortal. Swords bend instead of stabbing them, they can bat bullets away like flies, and explosives just blacken their faces like a Loony Toons cartoon. And this is one of the more normal films I’ve seen…..

    Was this a comedy?

  • Gamera977

It was described as a horror/comedy. I’d call it as leaning more to the comedy side.

    “Back in the day”? Quitter.

Yeah, I find the sort of modern, usually lamely tongue in cheek horror stuff you get on streaming services pretty pointless.
