Monster of the Day #1861

That poster would have definitely inspired me to buy a ticket. It certainly indicates that the film, while it has its cheesy elements, is going for a bit more depth and class than most Blaxploitation horror flicks. Again, though, much of the success of those efforts rests on the broad shoulders of William Marshall.

I am imagining one of those open air rural Aussie theaters with wood benches and the occasional macropod.

I’m amazed this film got international distribution from a corporate giant like Warner Bros. But then again, they also distributed a number of Christopher Lee Dracula films IIRC (including a few of the really tacky ones), so maybe I shouldn’t be so surprised.
