    Just got back from ‘The Meg’. Not sure if it’s a good movie or a ‘so bad it’s good’ movie but it was FUN!!! It was the most fun movie I’ve seen in some time.

    Give me a giant killer shark eating everything, over-the-top stunts, a totally badass hero, a plot with massive holes, and a really cute Chinese leading lady and I am HAPPY!!!

    Is this from that 90’s ‘Skeleton Warriors’ cartoon? And if so, will you be showing that (not kidding here) “sexy” female skeleton they had in the show? No, seriously, they sexed up a skeleton in a kids’ cartoon.

    Thanks for the thumbs up! I’m seeing Mission Impossible 5 tonight, to grab it before it leaves theaters, but will probably see The Meg this weekend.

    You’re welcome Ken! However it does recycle a boatload of killer animal tropes that have popped up in pretty much every ‘Jaws’ rip-off with a few modifications here and there. AKA the jerk mayor who keeps the beaches open is replaced by the jerk billionaire funding the project. Still I thought they used them in reasonable manner and the movie moves fast enough they don’t bog down on them.
    And there’s a cute kid right up there with the one from ‘Cruel Jaws’. She and Statham played off each other really well so I’m not complaining a bit.
    Finally even though the meg has multiple chances to cause some massive carnage it seems to be really easily distracted and have surprisingly picky taste ignoring extras to chase the cast. Still I can see not racking up a body count of hundreds in a PG-13 flick.
    Best thing I can say is I walked into the theater kinda blue and depressed and walked out with a big grin on my face.
