    I remember an old Famous Monsters issue with an article about Mexican monster movies which had a shot very similar to this. A shame more of those Mexican pix were never imported north of the border.

    Also makes me think about that John Ashley made in the Philippines film “Twilight People” more or less yet another version “Island of Dr. Moreau”.

    Someone should do a set of the Santo movies. Just sub or dub them for us Americans and you’d be set.

    Most frustrating is all the ones that are released here (for Hispanic audiences) that they don’t bother to subtitle. Does subtitling cost that much? Surely expanding your potential consumer base to include English speakers would cover it.

    I remember some years back there were all sorts of cheap DVDs that had the K. Gordon Murray dubs. Santo and the Wax Museum and vs. the Vampire Women were two, along with a bunch of non-Santo stuff.
    The transfers were fairly poor but watchable.

    Another issue with the Santo movies is that they’re sometimes released incomplete even on official Mexican disks! (Though, oddly, they sometimes have English subtitles even if the ones issued in the States don’t!) I saw one of the Santo/Blue Demon movies in which much reference is made to a scene inexplicably cut out!
