    Now there’s a real pulp story — ‘Blood from a Stone’, and the plot is three pulp authors team up to track down their publishers and actually get the thousands of dollars in back pay they’re owed from them.

    Yeah, some of the stories I’ve heard about getting Hugo Gernsback or Farmsworth Wright to actually pay the authors are pretty shocking.

    I’ve heard Gernsback’s going rate for authors was a fifth of a cent per word. And only after you threatened a lawsuit. I’m surprised he wasn’t murdered!
