Monster of the Day Day #1715

Two monsters for the price of one!

    But isn’t the real monster…man?

    So that’s three.

I’ve heard the rule with three characters you should have a manly man, beautiful woman, and a horrible monster. This seems to be lacking the second unless you have some pretty odd tastes….

On the other hand I’ve read a few Andre Norton stories but not this one so it might be a good illustration for the tale. I’ve heard some SF writers gripping about cover paintings that have nothing to do with the story within. But I’ve been reading a bunch of old (30’s- 50’s) Weird Tale magazines I found online and the cover paintings so far seem pretty decently close to what the tales the authors wrote.

Nice throw for a creature with duck feet for hands.

  • Flangepart

About to say the same thing! And what’s with foreground guys left hand fingertips?

  • Beckoning Chasm

“Hold still, damn it! I know you’re anxious about getting back to the dance-off with Duckpanzee, but I can’t remove that cocktail toothpick unless you stop squirming!”

Just read the summary and there is a part were the human hero and a “merman” are in an arena with a dragon creature. I see nothing about why the human has claws though.

But, as Deepak Chopra taught us animals never had a war. Who’s the real animals?

  • Ken_Begg

    Neither have rocks. Idiot.

Insects go to war all the time. Well, ants certainly. Probably others.

Meerkat Manor territorial disputes were quite violent.
