Monster of the Day #1542

Don’t be misled. He’s trying to warn them they’re about to do it in a patch of poison ivy.

Sukia was a vampire, in case you where wondering.

  • And here we find the Creature from the… I dunno, call it Blue Lagoon… finding his main squeeze in the arms of another.

  • Eric Hinkle

She’s a vampire? Does that mean the monster is trying to save that poor dumb blonde guy from her undead wiles?

  • Eric Hinkle

“Harry! **** it, you told me you were through with women!”

  • bgbear_rnh

I think she is a copyright and trademark attorney for Universal Pictures with blondie attempting to to settle out of court.

  • sandra

She’s wearing ( more or less) a black dress and a little hat with a veil. Did they just come from a funeral ?

  • I just realized, that’s not just a Creature from the Black Lagoon type monster. It’s a VAMPIRE Creature from the Black Lagoon type monster! Look at those fangs!

  • bgbear_rnh

Well if Mr Gillman has his way they will be attending one.

  • Flangepart

My…she looks bored at the prospect of boinking…

  • bgbear_rnh

She is looking at the reader who despite being a pimply faced 13 year old Italian boy has to be a better lover than Captain Underpants here.

So, Sukia is the lady there that looks like Joan Collins?

Whatever can be said about the interior contents, the fact is the cover features some pretty good artwork. Photographic reference was obviously used, but that doesn’t diminish the skills of the painter one iota.

  • bgbear_rnh

Yes, I was thinking the anatomy was nearly perfect. Artist may have a problem with hands as only one is showing and that one does not look that good.

  • Ken_Begg

From the number of issues, I’m assuming this was a weekly or bi-weekly. That would also explain the not that great interior black and white art, although admittedly those artists knew their genitals.

But yes, the covers are dynamite.

Actually, I think Sukia was based on that actress who played Princess Aura in the Sam Jones Flash Gordon.

  • bgbear_rnh

Flash Gordon was there in silver underwear ;-)

  • KeithB

She has a Wikipedia page with a much more revealing cover.

  • Rock Baker

Ornella Muti (sp?) was her name, I believe. A stunningly beautiful girl, not sure how much or that shows through her clown makeup in FLASH GORDON, though. This particular cover doesn’t favor her as much as some others do.
