Monster of the Day #1532

Here we see Stanley trying to more overtly ape an Eerie Publications mag. They’ve amped up the ‘sex’ a bit, but still are skipping the gore. I still love how amateurish the art is. This is fanzine-level stuff, and not high grade fanzine. Still, nothing’s more terrifying than a (I guess) monster with a dowsing rod.

Man, those are some wee bones.

Plus the green ghoul has the dowsing rod backwards.

Assuming it’s not a tuning rod or something…

  • Ericb

It looks like the artist used Lyndon Johnson as a model for the green guy.

  • Beckoning Chasm

What’s kind of creepy is that those are clearly infant skeletons on the ground.

  • Eric Hinkle

“Your little brother first — then you!”

  • bgbear_rnh

    Worst spring break ever.

  • Poor girl. First that sun burn and now this.

  • sandra

So, the girl with th3e bad sunburn stumbled into the green monster’s baby barbecue and the blue guy brought the beer ?

  • bgbear_rnh

Maybe she is the creepy one. Her bikini does seem to match the old guy’s skin color. She is wearing the hides of his kin and now she will pay the price!

  • CaptNemo

    Turkey dinner from hell.

Time for the wishbone, baby! :Evil Laugh:

I feel like these artists were used to working on humor magazines? This has a kind of Al Jaffe kind of vibe, especially the green guy. It’s almost like it was drawn bad on purpose, something Dan Clowes would do if he were making a satire of horror comics. And what’s the other thing he’s holding? A unicorn horn?
