Monster of the Day #1397

This issue was raised yesterday, but this is a clearer example. I love the puckish sense of humor of Amok Time’s B-Movie figures, as indicted by the gap revealing the ankle of the “actor” playing the monster here. That’s just fabulous.

Ah-ha, that is cute Ken, I like it! I guess it would be more noticeable on a figure like the Hideous Sun Demon if I had the figure here rather than looking at a photo from one angle.

Btw, don’t spill your sodium on this one or BANG!!! (Of course considering how reactive sodium is it can’t be too good for anything it’s thrown on.)

  • The Rev.

As our beloved Lyz Kingsley would say, WANT!!!

Even though they appear to have based the mouth on that retouched photo-comic rather than the actual costume. Where are the sausages?

  • Ericb

Well, sausages are high in sodium.

The They just didn’t care line of action figures.

  • Flangepart

Snausages! Yeah, I noticed that too. I would like to know what the designer’s choices were based on.

  • Rock Baker

I think the idea was to mirror the Warren photo-comic tie-in. In that, the monsters had their mouths painted over and altered to make it look as if they had fangs instead of glove fingers.

This is the very figure my brother gave me for my birthday a few years ago! The only thing it lacks is a bikinied victim to carry.

  • Ken_Begg

Sweet! Now you just need some Beach Girls and the Monster and Destination Inner Space figures.

  • Rock Baker

    Don’t I wish!

  • The Rev.

    Nice one!
