Monster of the Day #1379

Man, that’s gorgeous.

Why, it’s an ABOMINATION, if you will!

(they really did recycle those looks they thought did well at Marvel, didn’t they?)

  • Ken_Begg

    Not according to the movie.

(Never did get the redesign. The look was so generic.)

  • Acethepug

More of the comics, because ugh, that movie one :(

He’s not as scaled and brow-ridged, but the ear-fins reminded me of him.

  • Beckoning Chasm

    Easier to make toys from?

  • I’m not sure how well a true to the comics Abomination would play, what with the funny ears. Not that I wouldn’t want to see it, mind you…

  • Gamera977

Looks more like ‘The Thing That Swims Like a Fish’ to me…

  • bgbear_rnh

The inspiration for A Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons song?

    No woman’s worth

    Destroying the earth

So walk like a man, my son

  • Beckoning Chasm

Nice to see guys wearing suits to go fishing, I have to dock a couple of points for forgetting the ties though.

  • Gamera977

Hmm, I figured them for mobsters disposing of a body.

  • Flangepart

The THING that walks like a man, dances like a woman, drinks like a fish, floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee, and eats more metaphors before breakfast that you can shake a stick at, if that’s yer idea of a good time…

  • Acethepug

Unrelated except for the ‘walks like a’ quote. Someone on usenet had the following in their signature, and I thought it was hilarious

“Donna Troy, the continuity error that walks like a woman.”

(I know at least some of you will smile over that)

  • Wish I thought of that.

  • Luke Blanchard

Gargantus made a return appearance in STRANGE TALES #85. Gil Kane’s cover for Tower’s UNDERSEA AGENT #4 is worth comparing.
