T(ween)-Fest this weekend!

Join us at Sandy’s place in Rockwall, outside of Dallas, this Saturday (we’ll begin Friday night, actually) for another spring Between-Fest. Details can be had by emailing me at ken@jabootu.com.

Management has decided to refocus on movie-watching, so we’re going to try to hold down the recent yakking and socializing that’s characterized recent Fests. However, we will take a longer dinner break, offsite, so that people can socialize there. We’ll see how that works.

We won’t be showing X the Unknown (although it’s fabulous), but we will have bad sequels, car chases, crazy Asian films, cyborgs, death rays, devil worshipers, erupting volcanoes, exotic locales, martial arts, mass destruction, mummies, monsters, ninjas, space aliens, submarines, super powers and of course a film made in Texas.

See you there or see you square.

I’ll be there with bells on!

  • Man, I’m not square, Imma parallelogram. That’s almost cool, right?

    Right?

Anthony (Quatermass) Hinds. Nice way to slip that name in there without stepping on any copyright toes. Too bad he didn’t officially change his name to that.

  • Flangepart

Great flick. Atmosphere out the wazoo, and a monster that could melt you heart…and skin, liver, bones…

  • “…car chases, crazy Asian films, cyborgs, death rays, devil worshipers, erupting volcanoes, exotic locales, martial arts, mass destruction, mummies, monsters, ninjas, space aliens, submarines, super powers…”

All in the same film, right? Wish I could be there!

In the 1950s the US may have mastered giant bugs and the Japanese giant reptiles but it was the British who mastered movies about weird, blobby things.

  • The Rev.

Some of the gang knows, but for those that don’t and care, I’ll be there very late, missing most of the day. I hope to at least join you all at dinner, but we’ll see. So, that means that this year there will be no Rev. write-up that will never get done anyway. Sorry.

  • Ken_Begg

I will then not write a review in your honor, sir!

  • sandra

I’ve always found Dean Jagger pretty horrifying.

  • Beckoning Chasm

He passed his looks down to his son, Mick.

  • The Rev.

You won’t get them before you leave, but I am trying to get 2013’s write-ups done for when you get back home.

  • Jamie B.

Galaxyjane and I have decided that at least one episode of “Doctor Who: The Dinosaurs” should be shown.
