    I’ve previously assumed the POV figure was seeing the woman’s real nature through the glass. But he’s a skeleton. The skull must be his own face, superimposed on hers.

    It makes perfect sense. Beer goggles for a skeleton would make a hot skeleton chick out of a gross, overfleshed live human.

    I think AC used this cover art for one it’s reprint volumes too. I could almost see it as a rough for a Dr. Phibes poster.

    I don’t think so, the skull head has her hair.

    Her front locks are bright enough to show up through the reflection, and we see the line of her hair on the left there’s no reflection there to efface it.
