First, apologies for yesterday. I couldn’t get on the site before work.
Second, congratulations to Best Host in the World Sandy Petersen, for another successful Kickstarter with the second edition of Cthulhu Wars. He raised just over a million bucks.
Before anyone pops theirs eyes, though, remember that the game itself will be hideously expensive to manufacture and ship. And that most people will have included their shipping funds in their pledges (which is fine), which means that Petersen Games will lose a bit on each game shipment since Kickstarter will collect a slice of that money.
I have no idea how many new figures there are (there are 7 new factions, I think), but it’s a ton. And neato custom dice, etc. Add in the 38 (!!!) stretch goals alone–real ones, like an entire slew of glow in the dark Great Old One figures–and that profit margin is probably a lot slimmer than you might think.
Still, there’s no doubt it was a successful campaign. So congrats to Sandy, Wendy, Arthur, Grant and all the rest of the staff.
Oh, and here’s a monster. He doesn’t know who many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, however.
