Monster of the Day #1230

Let’s admit it, when you work at a place called “Horrormoor,” your reputation is sort of baked in the cake. Meanwhile, that girl who stumbled in from an Archie comic must be horribly confused.

Personally I’d have entitled it: ‘How to get A Head in Horrormoor.’ (sorry I know it’s awful..)
I notice the bat is back. And I’m not sure if ‘Betty’ is upset about the death knight or the mouse?

That guy in armor is the tallest dwarf I’ve ever seen. And such a charming collection we see in the room behind Sir Headless. “Hey lady, if you’re done with that noggin, can I have it? I’ve been looking for the skull of a white female aged 18-25 for-ever!”

  • bgbear_rnh

The bat and the rat seem about as confused and annoyed as the chick from Riverdale.

  • sandra

isn’t the dead guy on the floor the Dwarf ?

  • bgbear_rnh

He does look to be at least a head shorter than the lady.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Maybe the woman is the dwarf?

  • bgbear_rnh

The “rat” is actually a dwarf kangaroo.

The cover art looks like Bill Elder.

  • Luke Blanchard

It’s by Joe Maneely. His signature is by the ghost’s right foot. (It’s easier to read in the GCD’s image.) Stan Lee speaks very highly of his ability. He died young in a train accident in 1958.
He did a lot of stories for Marvel, and Marvel has reprinted a number of them in its Marvel Masterworks collections in recent years.

Thanks! I didn’t know his work.
