Monster of the Day #1160

Out of Dwellers in the Mirage stuff, but this is pretty sweet.

  • CaptNemo

Ah, the stuff they don’t teach new agents at Quantico.

  • Gamera977

I figured octopi was more a job for the Navy or Marines, or at least the CIA. And is it in Spanish? Is it set in Puerto Rico??? I don’t think a FBI agent has any authority outside the US.

  • Flangepart

My guess is they don’t know that.
(Pifft) How about some .45 ACP, Mr. Tentacles?

  • Beckoning Chasm

Scully looks way too masculine here.

  • Gamera977

Does need a more snappy title:

‘How About Some .45 ACP, Mr. Tentacles’ works!

    Also:

‘J. Edger Hoover Vs. The Octopus!’

‘You’re Not Robbing THIS Bank Senor Octopus!’

  • Gamera977

    Or else it’s Aquaman with a sub-machine gun….

  • Luke Blanchard

The series is from Spain, and the artist was Luis Bermejo. Comic Book Plus has a number of the issues, but not this one, alas.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Is the title “The Triumph of the Good”? Does that mean the octopus wins?

  • bgbear_rnh

    Puerto Rico is the US.

  • bgbear_rnh

Mr. Tentacles: Federales eh? Where are your badges?
Special Agent: Badges? Here are our stinken’ badges. 100 of them!

  • Gamera977

Oh, since the FBI doesn’t have any authority outside the US I was wondering if the comic was from Puerto Rico. Guess I wasn’t very clear there, my apologies.

  • bgbear_rnh

Oh, I misread it, I am reflexive because I often see people making the P.R. error. You have my apologies Senor Tortuga Grande.

Seems funny from Spain but, I assume they would also enjoy tales of the old US West as well. The Italians obviously did.

  • Gamera977

Senor Tortuga Grande, wow I like my Spanish name!

  • Eric Hinkle

You’d think Italians would prefer stories of the Renaissance for their action fix. As one Italian explained it to L. Sprague de Camp: “Italian history, she’s some hot stuff. Everybody stabs everybody!”

  • Eric Hinkle

Pity we’re not getting more Merritt art, you could probably do a month’s worth of stuff from his books. But the FBI versus the Spanish Octopus cover is immensely cool. “He tried to slip his tentacles through the underworld until the brave FBI agents stopped him in his slithery tracks!”

  • bgbear_rnh

LEONARDO. MICHAELANGELO. Come noon only one will be left standing. Sergio Leone’s “A Fist Full of Florins”

  • sandra

Few people are aware of the activities of the FBI’s Anti-Octopus Unit.

  • I’ve seen enough hentai to know where this is going

  • Luke Blanchard

He’s Paul the Octopus, being busted for fixing the World Cup.
