Supposedly, this character had a wider part in this film. He was supposed to be a biker that wiped out and was now haunting New York Streets. But the Ghostbusters people were not able to get the effect to work. And this scene where the person gets into the cab was supposed to be a little inside joke and call back to the previous scene.
