Monster of the Day #1118

“Think they went this way. I’ll just turn- HOLLY SNIKEY!”…

  • SteveWD

Seeing this just makes me appreciate this movie even more. How far can you get on a relatively small budget, short schedule, a lot of creativity and imagination, and a rear projection screen? Well, pretty far.

  • bgbear_rnh

Yes but, I recall H.R. Pufnstuf being a little more friendly looking.

  • kgb_san_diego

Wow. I know I would remember this if I had seen it! (And yes, H.R. Puffenstuff DOES come to mind) So, captain, what is this wonder?

Alice in Wonderland, the remake : The Caterpillar has changed !

  • The Rev.

At the Earth’s Core, same as yesterday. Ken should be able to get a whole week’s worth of MotD from it; I can definitely think of four monsters from this, and I also want to say there was a carnivorous plant, too. I’m guessing the insta-exploding fire toad will be Friday’s; saving the best for last, as it were.
I like this guy; he’s like Gappa’s smaller, less feathery, but more mean-looking cousin.

  • Rock Baker

From this moment on, it’s impossible for a kid not to be hooked on the picture!

  • Gamera977

If I ever start my own rock band I’m thinking ‘Insta-Exploding Fire Toad’ would be an awesome name.

  • Flangepart

Gappa!KNEW he reminded me of someone…something.

  • Eric Hinkle

Just think what Amicus might have been able to do with that imagination and some of the modern SFX technology. Or, say, Eiji Tsuburaya.

I just hope we get the big monster that starts eating one poor cavemen right before another monster shows up and they start to battle it out. I was hopping up and down for joy when I saw that one as a kid!
