    Given that he’s crushing a sperm whale with one tentacle, I wonder how big Octa-Man here is supposed to be? Maybe the Sea Devils should just ring up Godzilla, he’s used to this sort of thing.

    I don’t remember where I saw this as a kid (probably “The Encyclopedia of Monsters”) but man, I have loved it ever since. Possibly one of my favorite comics covers ever.

    Arguably, it should look wrong due to water distortion! But I suspect it’s not plausible that the seabed could drop away that quickly so close to a sandy beach. The sand would get washed away.

    I love the remarkably bored look on the face of the monster- to us crushing a sperm whale is pretty epic but to Octo/Hexapus guy it’s just Thursday…
