Monster of the Day #1100

Sorry for the sporadic posting this week, I’ve been having real problems getting an Internet connection in the morning, and I don’t have Internet access at work, so…..

Anyway, this is a very attractive cover.*

    A very polarizing monster.

  • Flangepart

The artist was drawn to this guy…Yeah, not a lot of good magnet jokes.
Wonder if they offed him by luring him to a mine field. Worked in GALAXY QUEST.

  • Marsden

I really like the way his face has NO written on it. I don’t know if that was intentional. A really interesting monster design, though.

  • Gamera977

Hmmm, seems like he’d attract all kinds of fun stuff like torpedoes, depth charges, etc. Seems like a kinda sucky power to have.

  • Beckoning Chasm

My memory’s not what it used to be, but I know we’ve seen Sea Devils covers in the past…and it seems to me that they always fight giants.

So again, are they fighting giant monsters, or are the Sea Devils a branch of the Combined Miniature Defense Force?

  • bgbear_rnh

“The Seas may vanish. . .” Oh brother. Bet There was an Al Gore Power Point and everything.

  • Beckoning Chasm

Is that Russ Heath? It looks more like Mike Sekowsky (sp).

  • Rodford Smith

Yeah, what kind of school did this guy go to, anyway?

    (Sorry…)

  • Rodford Smith

One of the few of these comics I read had them menaced by sea crocs, which actually are pretty large. Though, of course, they were drawn much larger than life…

  • Luke Blanchard

According to the Grand Comics Database it was Irv Novick, who also drew the story, and Jack Adler did the “color and wash effects”.
