Monster of the Day #1063

I hope this is better documented than this. What a prop!!!!!! Courtesy of the Maestro, Carlos Rambaldi.

This was made for a proposed TV pilot, Hercules and the Princess of Troy. The entire thing is on DailyMotion.

    Yipes!
Pic. #5…am I gonna have to deal with image alone, or can I get some brain cleaner at the 7/11?

Wow, that thing is just awesome. Also, it’s pretty incredible how much the final product looks like the concept drawing.

Really love seeing some of Carlo Rambaldi’s more obscure stuff. He’s most well known for the big stuff (ET, Close Encounters, mechanical design on Alien, etc….), but seeing what he did on I’m sure was a much smaller money and time budget is impressive.

Yeah, looks like Herc is about to be rendered fit to guard a sultan’s harem there.

  • Gamera977

Yeah wow, it’s friggin’ huge- awesome!

  • bgbear_rnh

    That’s what Helen said ;)

  • bgbear_rnh

In he last picture the bug looks like he is leaning to hear what Herc has to say.

Reminds me of the bugs in “The Monster That Challenged the World” but, better of course.

  • David Fullam

    One very impressive creature.

  • Gamera977

    No not Herc… LOL!

  • The Rev.

Oh wow, that is wonderful. I love it!

  • Rock Baker

It really doesn’t get much better than that.

  • Flangepart

Oh, yeah. Looks VERY bad tempered.
