    The more I think about it being a mutant the unicorn’s horn should be a light saber or some such…

    So, if TMS is able to get so close to a unicorn, that must mean that he’s a virgin. Unless mutant unicorns are different, of course.

    Hard understand what the threat of a unicorn could be unless he was impaling the few remaining regular horses.

    Well, going by some medieval European legends, unicorns would allow non-virgins to get close to them. It made it much easier for the unicorn to trample them into a bloody paste.

    If you look closely, you can see that the unicorn has fangs. I guess it’s actually a vam-pony?

    I recommend the Dark Horse collected volumes of these old comics. I was a kid when the originals came out and had a bunch of them, but the DH complete collection showed me stories I’d never seen before.

    In this story, the “unicorn” was a vicious mutant which simply resembled the old myth, but some of the humans believed it to be the real thing.
