Monster of the Day #994

Working for scale.

Originally the American Automobile Association (AAA) wanted a short film about changing your flat tire but, there was a misunderstanding at the film production company.

  • Eric Hinkle

Ah, SSSSSS (or however many S’s the title had). For some reason I always remember this movie as having been much creepier than it probably is.

  • bgbear_rnh

I think it was Strother Martin.
What we’ve got here is failure to transmutate

  • Gamera977

    Awwwwwww……FRACK!!!

  • bgbear_rnh

Funny thing, in make-up Dirk looks like John Malkovitch.

  • Ericb

Actually that’s not Dirk’s character. It’s the previous grad student/assistant who, I guess, was sold to the circus by the mad scientist. So was the whole experiment just a way to get into the freak show wholesale business?

  • bgbear_rnh

Get your freak on at Dr. Stoner’s Side Show Emporium

  • Flangepart

    “Don’t get me hissed off!”

  • Gamera977

Aw… shucks I forgot about the other guy!

  • Gamera977

‘Could sssomeone um light my cigar and put in my mouth, sssucks not to have hands ya know…’

  • Beckoning Chasm

I wonder if Ron Howard saw this movie and said, “Oh, good, Clint is getting work!”

  • zombiewhacker

“Get a new president!” Oh, wait, sorry… wrong Snake.

  • Ericb

    Coming to NBC this Fall

  • bgbear_rnh

I am glad Charlie Sheen is finding work.

    winning!

  • Rock Baker

I think it was just a way to get rid of failures, since the carnies wouldn’t ask a lot of questions.

  • Rock Baker

The full cut of the film is pretty bland. However, the 400′ digest is actually a pretty effective version.

  • I’ve always wanted to see this, yet when ever the opportunity arises I let it slip right on past.

  • GalaxyJane

It turned up on Svengoolie within the last 18 months or so. It may rotate around again.

  • That would be a very excellent reason for watching. Pity I no longer have cable where the channel he was broadcasting on for me.

  • GalaxyJane

Fortunately we get it on one of the free OTA channels in our market, as we also dumped cable. The kids will lose their minds if the local channel that partners with MeTV ever changes their contract to someone else. That’s all they watch.
