Monster of the Day #987

I’m guessing this is something that was cut from the Star Wars prequels by George Lucas, who said “That’s too much, even for me.”

Oh, too bad you couldn’t find a photo of him smoking the big cigar!

Finally, one I know, from The Seven Faces of Dr Lao.

I happened to watch this for the first time in decades, just about a month ago! As a kid, it always a big event in my home when it was on tv or we found it at the rental store (80’s)… it gave me that magical feeling kids used to get when they didn’t have the limitless selection we’re now so used to (five channels when the wind was blowing right, and we LOVED them all, dammit :p). I have a much different perspective on it now, especially knowing more of the behind-the-scenes loveliness. I can’t help but still enjoy it… though, these days, it could almost be considered a hate-crime by the blowhards inclined to claim such things. I don’t wanna think about how they’d remake it today…
