Rogue was nearly sent direct to DVD following the extremely poor performance of this year’s Primevel. Of course, the problem there was that that film supposed sucked, party because (are you sitting down?) it wanted to MAKE AN IMPORTANT STATEMENT in between the giant croc munchings. Plus, since it was *cough, cough* based on a real life croc, which hasn’t been caught or killed yet, there was no real climax.
Rogue, by the makers of Wolf Creek, is reputed to be significantly better. I hope so, as this is a busy genre with almost invariably awful offerings. Meanwhile, I’m really glad I’ll get a chance to see this in theaters. It’s due out in November. Here’s hoping it’s not the Lake Placid of 2007.
