Monster of the Day #872

Man, that’s the stuff.

Screw Battlefield Earth, somebody make this movie. (Actually, being serious, other than it needing a steep budget, why isn’t SyFy doing stuff like this?)

  • Flangepart

One eyed butt kicker. Bat-ter up!

  • Reed

Hyena Bat Harpies? Yeah, that’s pretty awsome. Needs a name, though.
    Hybarpies? Batanapies? Harbatenas?
I’ll have to think about that some more.

  • Ericb

Getting out of Fort Lee doesn’t get any easier in the post-apocalyptic future.

  • bgbear_rnh

I would suggest habanero but, it is taken.

  • bgbear_rnh

All these wild odd critters. I was wondering where Samson got his pelt. Clifford the Big Red Dog?

Tip to batdoogle* thingie: attack from Samson’s blind side.

    *another suggestion for Reed

  • Ericb

    Shouldn’t he have longer hair?

  • bgbear_rnh

of course, because all the barbers are dead.

Oh, I see what you mean, sun-god archetype, biblical legendary guy and all that stuff.

    why why why Delilah

  • Gamera977

I was thinking ‘The Giant Haha.’

It’s as big as a battl… um well big as a rowboat!!!

  • Flangepart

    Clifford, Nooooo!…
Seriousley, how do these hybred thingies come about, even with radiation? I mean…what got jiggie with what?

  • bgbear_rnh

Samson fights his way across the Hudson to defeat a gang of barbaric raiders.

Lead by Chris Christie no doubt.

I have never been to NYC but, I do not think there are steep cliffs like that at either end of the GW Bridge,

  • bgbear_rnh

    oops, replied in wrong place

  • bgbear_rnh

This time the mayor really P.O. the governor.

  • Ericb

Well since this is a post-apocalyptic future more like the village chief P.O.ed the local warlord.

  • sandra

First he has to fight giant bats, and Then barbaric raiders ? Maybe he should have stayed on his own side of the Hudson.

  • Ericb

Actually there are. They’re called the Palisades.

  • bgbear_rnh

I was wondering how much time has passed. Sure mutation of new species but, that chick from yesterday still had regular garb and hair, and the cars were not rusted out completely. Even if she pulled the clothes out of the rubble, they would probably be rotted.

  • bgbear_rnh

thanks. I’ll have to get there (well armed) some day.

  • Rock Baker

Upon seeing this, I too saw the movie potential. It would have made for an interesting co-production between Japan and Italy.

  • Rodford Smith

Yeah, some things were rather incongruously preserved. They raided stores for canned food and ate it without harm. The nuclear war was set to happen decades in the future from when the comic was published. There were odd bits of future tech still working (including a nuclear-powered subway system) which may explain why so much was still in good shape.
