Monster of the Day #857

Oh, this is the best bit!*

[*Do you see what I did there?]
  • Gamera977

Will I get kicked out of Jabootu-land for admitting that I haven’t seen any of these films? I thought I had but I remember the movie starred Tracy Scoggins which after looking up on IMDB turns out to be ‘Demonic Toys’ instead…

    I feel so ashamed…

  • Ken_Begg

I really think it was a generational thing. If you lurked in video stores through the ’80s, you saw a ton of these. If not, not so much.

Actually, I’m not sure I’ve even really seen most of the Puppet Master movies.

  • sandra

    Beldar, you look terrible.

  • Gamera977

Well I did grow up in the ’80s but I hung out in more arcades than video stores…

  • Rock Baker

I always kinda liked this guy. Something about his look really worked.

  • Jamie B.

I also have never seen any of them. What a hole in my bad-movie resume’.

  • Ken_Begg

Yeah, I was the guy (surprise) that loaded up on ten weird-looking movies every weekend. Ah, 5 for 5 for $5 deals, how I loved you.

  • Flangepart

Oh, this guy is SO screwed…Okay, I’ll stop now…

  • BobTanaka

The tragic, living proof of the torrid love-affair between Curly Howard and Megalon.

  • He looks so drilled… er, thrilled to be there.

  • The Rev.

I hung out in arcades, too, subject to my mom taking me to one. Then I got my own car; that’s when the movie rental frenzy began, supplemented with our finally getting cable in our particular part of Middle-of-Nowhere, U.S.A. I made up for lost time, I did.

I think the only grounds for banishment would be not having seen any of the movies Ken’s reviewed. Or maybe just Robot Monster because, seriously, everyone needs to see that. And Tarkan, although the difficulty in finding it would be an acceptable excuse.

  • The Rev.

I’d say watch the first three, if any. Maybe the two recent ones Rock’s mentioned that follow from the events of the third one, if you end up liking that one as much as Rock and I did. You can safely avoid the other ones, from what I’ve seen (or heard in two cases).

  • Gamera977

Lol, well I’ve seen ‘Manos: The Hands of Fate’ multiple times which should qualify me by anyone’s standards as a bad movie aficionado.

  • Gamera977

Since the third movie has Richard Lynch in it I have to get around to watching it sooner or later.
