Monster of the Day #849

Might as well keep running with Turok. Can’t go wrong there. (I like Kona a bit better, but, you know, giant bugs and megalodons. Still, this ain’t chopped liver.)

This, by the way, represents a lazy Sunday for Turok.

The whole tribe developes a mad posh for handbags, so…

Looks like Turok has useless, freeloading friends as well (yeah, that stone tomahawk looks pretty useful against a giant crocodile). I guess it goes with the job.

I would make a “see you later alligator” quip but, it does not rhyme in our language

  • Ken_Begg

Ha, I was thinking that too. “Turok! TUROK!!! We’re over here, hiding behind the boulder! Try not to put too many holes in the skin. Turok? TUROK?!!”

  • Actually, I was thinking the two guys on the right the “cunning” cave men, what with the stone axe and the bear skin shorts. So, still going by the tease on the cover, that would make Andar the crocodile. Which would explain my impression that not only is Turok not even looking at his target, but also his spear seems to be aimed just to the side of the croc’s head. Meaning he’s planning to feign a life or death battle with Andar just long enough for one of the cavemen to foolishly stick his head within snapping range. An event that, if this were a comic page, would no doubt happen next panel. (probably off panel.)

Of course, I could be misreading things. Or giving the artist/story too much credit. Whichever whatever.

That’s the good stuff right there. Beautiful!

  • Okay, so turns out Andar is Turok’s brother. Doesn’t mean the croc can’t be named Anadr, too. I had a cousin who shared a name with my aunt’s dog. It could happen.

I actually owned this issue. Man but Turok was great. Indians fighting dinosaurs, what’s not to love?

  • Ken_Begg

Yeah, that’s the kind of comic they need to make into a movie.
