Here are some still from 1952’s (justifiably) obscure The Jungle, starring Rod Cameron, Marie Windsor and Cesar Romero. Despite the recognizable cast, this is a real snoozefest, the sort of deal where you mark time until the last five minutes so you can finally get a brief glimpse of the above beasties. The film is available on DVD as a co-feature of the far more hilarious King Dinosaur.

    “Once I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas I donno, Then we tried to remove the tusks…the tusks…that’s not so easy to say.     I happen to’ve liked THE JUNGLE, thank you very much. The film is also noteworthy of being India’s first genre film.

    Recognizable cast? I NEVER would have known that it was Rod Cameron, Marie Windsor, and Cesar Romero underneath those mastodon costumes. Oh… wait…
