Monster of the Day #806

Thought this would be a graceful segue. Gold Key’s Dark Shadows series had a range of cover concepts. They started with photo covers (meh), went to these painted ones–the best, obviously–and then went to some rather cheesy–and presumably cheaper–drawn covers. In the comics Barnabas generally was used as a hero, probably because they made the comics for kids and thus thing they have to be very simple.

These aren’t as good as the Dell stuff I’ve spotlit before, I think, but hey, why not?

It is a dark pit except for the parts lit up by flames I assume.

  • Ken_Begg

Look at Barnabas. Even vampires fear lawsuits.

  • bgbear_rnh

seriously, could she have wore a longer skirt for a fiery cave walk?

  • sandra

I didn’t know there were volcanic caves in Maine.

So is today’s Monster the flame itself? Collins seems to be acting the hero here.

“No! Don’t dive in! At least not yet, I haven’t tasted 20-year-old AB- in decades!”

Lawyers will attack vampires? I thought they were like sharks and that whole ‘professional courtesy’ idea would prevent it.

Is that supposed to be Maggie Evans he’s chasing?
