Monster of the Day #778

Here’s Sandy’s favorite, apparently. I don’t know if I’ve ever tried this, actually. I do like orange dreamsicle-flavored stuff, though. Indeed, I’m very excited because Friday my local Culver’ s is offering their all too rare Orange Dreamsicle custard. Already looking forward to a couple of scoops of it.

    AHAH! Logo monsters it is!

  • Gamera977

Ohhhhhh, I always had Frosted Flakes… they’re even better if you pour even more sugar on them!

Guess Tony doesn’t really count as a monster though.

  • Ericb

A talking, bipedal tiger? That could definitely qualify as a monster. After all he never said he actually ate Frosted Flakes. He could be using them as a lure.

  • Rock Baker

Looks a tad like the original Fruit Loops cereal, back when it was just three flavors, and was actually quite tasty. When they added the green Loop, it just tasted terrible. I spent years after that waiting for them to go back to the original formula, or at the very least introduce Classic Fruit Loops. Sighhhhhh…..

  • Flangepart

Fruit Loops would make good bait. Run a line through ’em, hook it, and you have a Stephen King children’s book.

Speaking of orange dreamsickle stuff- Stewarts makes a killer soda called Orange-n-Cream. You’ll never go back to plain orange again. I dunno if it’s availble in Chicago, though, but worth checking out if it is.

  • The Rev.

I originally found it at Cracker Barrel (made me glad the family had actually gone there) and I’ll assume they have those in Chicago somewhere. We have a local grocery store that stocks it here, as well as my beloved Sioux City Sarsaparilla/Root Beer/Birch Beer, and even a couple of flavors I’d never seen IN FREAKIN’ IOWA. Craziness.

I actually like the Stewarts Key Lime even more than the Orange-n-Cream, not to take away from how good the OnC is

Tony the Man-Eater- ‘human kids they’re greeeaaattttt!!!!!!!’

  • Ken_Begg

    Soda tasting party at T-Fest?

  • MrTongoRad

Oh yeah- the Key Lime is also a great one. I pretty much enjoy their whole lineup (but haven’t tried the Black Cherry, cuz it’s just not my thing). Boylan’s makes the best Birch Beer around here, though.

You guys should definitely do a soda tasting! I look forward to reading the writeup.

  • The Rev.

They have black cherry? Dammit, I love black cherry; I haven’t seen that. The cherries-n-cream is pretty good.

I’ll make a note to try and bring some for Ken to try. If I can find actual packs (I think they sell it in fours) others can as well.

Speaking of write-ups: Ken, did any of the T-Fest 2012 ones ever come through to you with images? If not, I think I figured out the problem and can send one with them to you. And then get TwF 2013’s done in time for posting before T-Fest next month. You could get a double write-up to get everyone fired up that way.

  • The Rev.

Ken, buddy? Come in, Ken…please respond!

  • Ken_Begg

Oops, sorry. Been busy at work and after week this week.

I’ll get the piece up this weekend. After that, I’m just going to put them up whenever you send them. I’m not organized enough to make this work the way I’ve been doing.

  • Sandy Petersen

I hasten to say that I only liked it because I love me mummies. The cereal was gross, thanks to the horrible fake marshmallows that have eternally prevented me from eating Lucky Charms (for instance).

  • The Rev.

Did the images finally come through then? If not I can resend it tonight.

And I understand being busy at work.

  • Ken_Begg

They came through, but only when I downloaded it as a Word document, and I can’t copy them from there. If you can send them as separate jpegs or whatever, that would be great.

  • The Rev.

    Will do!

In other news, I went to the store and of course there’s no Stewart’s to be found now because they decided to start carrying Faygo instead (judging by all the Faygo that has suddenly appeared). I’ll see if I can find it elsewhere.
