In poor health for a few years now, and the subject of a familial dispute during that time, Casey Kasem has passed on. Few men were so pivotal to the pop culture of the second half of the 20th Century. Mr. Kasem was a gifted comic and occasional actor (Jabootu fans will remember him for such drive-in fare as THE DOOMSDAY MACHINE and THE INCREDIBLE TWO-HEADED TRANSPLANT), and perhaps most famous as the voice of the top 40 for decades. TV fans, meanwhile, will always think of him as the voice of Norville "Shaggy" Rogers in the long-lasting Scooby Doo franchise (as well as the very similar Alexander Cabot of Josie and the Pussycats). Rest In Peace, Sir, you've entertained so many for so long. You'll be missed.God bless.
